"I remember owning the Yomo and Maulkie promo tape. There were some good tracks. I remember liking their "For the Love of Money" track. I was especially surprised to later hear that same hook being used by Bones Thugs (if I'm not mistaken.) I never got into BT&Harmony and I always equated that song with Yomo and Maulkie. Y&M lived in a weird underrepresented realm of hip hop. Black political consciousness was growing and these guys seemed poised to run alongside artists such as Public Enemy and Paris as a different voice for the black-empowerment generation. They invoked a Jimi Hendrix theme for their art and had some experimental styles rotating on their turntables. But sure enough, when hip-hop's apathy took over, nobody cared about quality groups like PE or Paris or Y&M and everybody kinda got phased out in favor of fat watches, gold teeth and big-bootie hoes. Good job, hip-hop. Anyway, my cynical rant aside, this album had a few good tracks and I wish that I hadn't lost the tape so I could give it another try on CD. Of course I could never find this album on CD after I went LOOKING for it. So I'm left to wonder if it's as good as I remember. Maybe, maybe not. But I'm curious..."

"This cd is pretty good being produced by Eazy-E & Yella. It had some nice catchy beats & some pretty good lyrics by the two. But, it kinda sucks they aren't around anymore. If they were around longer they would make another album maybe even better as this one was."
