Escaping the flames of war, Noctis, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Lucis, embarks on an epic journey with his best friends in the hopes of finding the strength to take back his homeland and end the battle. About the Music
Japanese composer Yoko Shimomura had taken an interest in music and composition from the age of four, when she started taking piano lessons, but she also developed a love for video games. When she graduated from Osaka School of Music in 1988, she applied to be a composer for Capcom and, much to her surprise and delight, she got the job. Although her parents and peers were worried and upset that she chose to work in video games, she quickly made a name for herself in the field. Her first major project came in 1991 when she composed the soundtrack for Street Fighter II. Shimomura states that she draws inspiration from her work from classical composers such as Frederic Chopin and Ludwig van Beethoven, as well as having a strong interest in Jazz.
