Synopsis

Product Description
A fresh approach to the new age, each song with it's own unique instrumental *story*. "Storm of Light", the first release from award winning instrumental guitarist Yener Korkut, weaves Mediterranean/Agean, fusion/jazz into a relaxing yet upbeat package. In Yener's own words: "Our world, experiencing numerous storms and hurricanes, mother nature (the egrets and doves the oceans and reefs)...these are the elements that are interwoven in my songwriting and music. All of these "teachers" have redirected my life back to music, a life that has been truly a storm of light." Every instrument & sound is played by a living being, avoiding computer based editing, samples or loops. Perfect imperfections if you will... "Night Fall in Istanbul" - 2005 Grand Prize winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest "world" category. "Fallen Soldier" - 2006 Winner of Independent Music Awards "Film/TV/Multimedia" category.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Yener Korkut, originally from Turkey, but with a world perspective, has developed very original sounds clearly inspired by all of his travels and current life in St. Croix. The range of his guitar playing is spectacular and undoubtedly influenced by his experience playing several other string instruments including the Turkish ud. A must buy for your own pleasure or for entertaining."
