Women and children

"this album is a wonderful surprise and discovery. Haunting ghosts dancing paralyzed around you. This music creates a temperature to settle into. The first song weaves around a sparse melody and chilling lyrics before breaking unexpectedly into a charming piano drum thump. "Headless" is a masterpiece of texture, layered vocals creeping around by the end, distant flute, finger picked guitar and deep bass anchors. I put this on and get goosebumps. The singers voice obviously carries a resemblence to nico if she wasn't so heavy on the german off key accentuation. but even that is just lazy, a new identity comes through strong and original. Something warm and soulful without being anything more than human and direct.

At another point the music turns away from a gorgeous knot of guitar and vocal melody to enter a 6 minute sonic dirge or organ and organic like industrial crack ups.

Wonderful lyrics throughout. each song offers you something differnt; i could go on and on and become less and less coherent but i will simply finish with a loving recommendation to check this out."

"Dont you love it when really good records stay out of the mainstream? That happens to be the case here. But this music is truly brilliant, mixing genres and sometimes off key and unpredictable. I love this stuff.

No comparisons here- truly original. The style of music is part bluesy, part folksy with some French individuality and lots of experimental ideas that really work. And the singer, ooh la la, sooo sexy sounding. Music to put on for a new date to be certain.

I hope their next record is as good."
