This CD is a compelation of songs from Wilma Lee's solo career (recorded after the passing of her musical partner and husband, Stoney), but it is only the tip of the iceberg. For the true hardcore Wilma Lee and Stoney sound, seek out "Walking My Lord Up Calvary Hill". A definative multi-CD collection of Wilma Lee's music is sorely needed, but as she recorded for so many labels over her long career, legal logistics make such a collection a near impossibility."

"This is a truly awesome CD of pure, classic country music-- no drums, horns, or choirs on this one-- only the acoustic instruments that were found "back in the hills" accompany the splendid country voice of Wilma Lee. The days when pure country music such as this were produced in Nashville are long gone. We need to listen to CDs like this to realize how much has been lost in today's "modern" country music."

Wilma Lee's fine voice plus superb side-men -- wow !!!

"These tunes were recorded in 1979 and 1981 and all 18 tunes feature great dobro work by Gene Wooten and other fine musicians. "Big John's Wife" is terrific, for example."
