"both martino and jackson make a unlikely couple, being that one is guitar and the other sax but they make up for it through their fluid and original lines. Martino does a good job comping and setting up a a good rhythm for jackson. These guys tear it up!"I wish you love" is a nice ballad in which Martino clearly demonstrates his ability to weave beautiful lines. The band arrangements provides good accompanyment. This album has good live music which contains the fast paced and lively "Jackson's Action" and the slow and mellow, "I wish you love". good combination. A good album introducing martino and bebop"
Incredible, intense, toe-tapping!

"This is a great record. Jackson is really in top form here, squeaking and honking to his heart's content. Martino isn't heard from much on the latter half of the album, but the rhythm comping he does on the first half is superb. He really sets up a great groove, and Jackson pounds it home.
This is fat, greasy, chitlin and grits soul jazz."
