"I remember well my first trip to the Texas Tea House, just off Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. It was 1975 and things were, well, different then. Those were pre-P.C. times, both in the context of political correctness and electronics.

Texas Music In My Blood is a throwback to that era. Come to think of (or listen to) it, the CD sounds like it was recorded in that era. That's okay. Nobody ever confused the Tea House (what a madhouse!) with Carnegie Hall nor Will's band with the philharmonic.

If you ever stood on one of those benches, got cussed at by Will for wanting to hear a song before he was ready to play it, or tripped over your feet trying to do the Cotton-Eyed Joe on that asphalt in front of the bandstand, this album will take you back - back to Port A, back to your first pickup truck, back to the progressive country at the heart of the Dallas music scene in the mid 70s.

I haven't seen or heard of Will Barnes in a long time. I wonder if he went the way of the Tea House?"
