CD Reviews

"So unfairly underrated deserves to be fairly overrated."

"One of my fav new wave band that convey elegance, poetry and beauty; the Wild Swan's songs are truly timeless and has a place in my heart. I'm glad that they're popular in the Philippines where I first heard their song "Whirlpool Heart" in NU 107 FM, Manila. The track has a lovely lyrics and the way the song was sung, engineered and arranged. It's simply something that lingers and unforgettable. Other tracks that I deeply love are "Northern England," "The Worst Year of My Life," "Bringing Home the Ashes," "Archangels," "Immaculate," "Bitterness," "Mythical Beast" and "Bible Dreams." Listen closely to the lyrics of "Northern England" "Bringing Home the Ashes" and "The Worst Year of My Life," as an example, these songs tells beauty, patriotism and positive message. Plus, the melodies are just wonderful. Instrumentwise, the guitar layers and arrangement are something that is artistic and well-crafted - something that is mostly not heard on songs nowadays. I would have given this great band from England six stars if I could. "Come to a place I know where the air is clean...maybe we can capture there....Once I thought the world was blue, now it's reigning colours of paralizing you....." - Whirlpool Heart, The Wild Swans (Liverpool, England)."
One Of The Best Albums Of All Times

"Arguably, one of the best albums of all times. Perfect vocals, beautiful music, songs that transcend time. If I can give this more than five stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. My only complaint is I wish they would have released more albums. Too good of a band to have only released a few albums. There's really not a bad song on here. Songs range from outstanding to very good. This is the kind of music that should be played on the radio. Grab this double album while you can."
ANOTHER 80'S GEM WAITING TO BE REDISCOVER

"This a band with a similar style than the Ocean Blue, and The Smiths .

The lyrics are very simple melodic ,very relaxing ballads ,good riffs and keyboards .

Very new wave 80s sound.

The singer Paul Simpson has a gorgeous voice , very sweet almost Morrisey sounding.

Also includes as bonus instrumental tracks very nice ones , Telescope is my favorite in tha section.

the Smiths made a huge impact with many elements poetry and lyrics refer to Nothern England very melodic sometimes sounds a bit like Echo and the Bunnymen, layered guitars ,big electric drums but overbearing ,the best tracks are Archangels ,Young Manhood the most known song, Nothern England .

overall the first cd is very good ,the best Album was the first one Bring Home the Ashes out of print . the second CD is more pop bubble gum and the lyrics are not as elaborate as the first , perhaps one of the reason it didnt sale as well .

A MUST HAVE IN ANY 80'S COLLECTION ROMANTIC ALSO

If you are looking for a hangover relax music for a rainy day this is it."
