Synopsis

Product Description
At her core, Whitney Nichole is a humble, approachable, sweet young woman, whose music is truly an extension of her warm personality. Every live performance is genuine, heartfelt and intimate. 'I try to tell stories with my music which invoke raw emotions that people of all different ages, backgrounds and situations can experience,' she says. With distinguished piano parts, clever hooks, powerful chord progressions, moving lyrics, and belted vocals, it's clear that this female singer/songwriters melodic pop is heavily influenced by rock, country and soul. Following the success of her 2010 EP Will It Grow, Whitney teamed up with producer Adam Rossi (Megan Slankard, Luce, Brad Wolfe) who brings her piano playing and singing to life on her debut full-length album 100 Strong, placing her among the likes of Sara Bareilles, Adele and Ingrid Michaelson. Releasing independently on March 8, 2011, 100 Strong offers a vessel to travel and explore this artist's story and spirit. While in college studying law and policy at Yale (Class of 2005), Whitney was a member of two of the College's premiere a cappella groups, Whim 'n Rhythm and Mixed Company, releasing 3 albums between them. Following graduation, she soon quit her job, assembled a band, and hit the NYC scene. 'I played every hole in the wall I could, including a strip club,' says Whitney. After tackling NYC, Whitney moved back to California, explored the West Coast and landed in San Francisco. Since then she's won songwriting competitions in San Francisco as well as an honorable mention for her song 'Hard Enough' in the West Coast Songwriters International Song Competition. 100 Strong captures Whitney's sincere, personal performances beautifully, adding an even more powerful feeling that remains natural and organic. Whitney's live performances often feature Shelby Grolig (harmonies), Abigail Picache (drums), Betsy Adams (guitar), Kevin White (bass), Adam Rossi (synth/vocals), and Rebecca Roudman (cello), all of whom contributed their talents to the album. 100 Strong also features Brady Fishler, Erik Schramm, Emanuela Nikiforova, and Eli Nelson.
