Album Description
During the heyday of early 80's "Hollywood Hair Metal", there was a core group of bands destined to become the next big rock and roll heavyweights. M"tley Cre, Ratt, and Great White, you probably already are familiar with... but there was another group. One that some of these bands even opened for a few times. That group was ... White Sister Internal problems and fate would eventually tear the band apart shortly after they were signed by EMI America in 1984. Despite it all, White Sister managed to attain a legendary cult status that has not faded to this day. Recently, the group has finally come back together to begin playing shows again, shoot a live concert DVD and commence work on their first new studio album in over 20 years.

"Righ from the opening track you know what your in for.A fun ride down the fast and wild road of 80's music.Great rhythm and guitar solos,it's here, great 80's sounding keyboards, got it!

White Sister is a very impressive 80's AOR/melodic hair metal band.

1.Don't say that your mine(10/10)The guitar intro on this song will have you rockin the house down.Vocals sound great and it wouldn't be complete without the keyboards!Excellent song this is!

2.Straight from the Heart(9/10)This track has great rhythm guitar use.Totally mindblowingly fun song.I always have fun playin bass and rockin to this track. The chorus is a great sing a long.

3.Love Don't make it Right(9/10)The guitarist really shows off some more great rhythm talent here.Awesome song. This one always gets play for me on a hot summer night!Another killer chorus line with this one.

4.Breakin All the Rules(9/10)Great song. This is what real music and the 80's is all about, havin some great fun!Real rockin track!More great guitar work and keyboards are impressive.

5.Whips(8/10)Filler song, but sounds great.Better than today's music by all standards!

6.Can't Say No(10/10)intro starts slow then explodes into total fury.A metal song that sounds great!Another contagious chorus on this one.I love it!

7.Promises(10/10)Excellent song.A real standout. The guitar work and distortion level used is breathtaking, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals sound suberb.A shinning song for this very underrated band.

8.Walk Away(9/10)Dazzling song.Thses guys can't do no wrong.Very talented.

9.One More Night(8/10)Solid.Guitar work and vocals.Love it!The keyboard riff in the distant backround sounds great.

10.Just for You(9/10)Slower song of this album.Done with good style.Excellent tune.Really enjoyed it!Another great keyboard riff in this one with more guitarwork.

I must say that this is a must own for any 80's or metal fan. It's a crime not to own this! It's an excellent album. It reminds everyone what real music is and will be again very soon!

Clasic 80's melodic rock album
Justin Gaines | Northern Virginia | 04/03/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I hadn't previously heard of White Sister when I ran across a used copy of their self-titled 1984 debut album, but I could tell just by the cover photo that I was going to love it. Call it the "Loverboy rule." When you see an 80's band that sports a combination of red leather pants and white boots, you can be reasonably certain that they are going to rock. If the band photo wasn't proof enough, the album was produced by AOR icon Greg Giuffria.

As expected, White Sister had a classic 80's AOR/melodic rock sound - great melodies, catchy choruses, guitar hooks, and positively drenched with keyboards. The album is full of rock anthems (the first four tracks alone should have been massive arena rocking hits) and of course power ballads. It's really just the quintessential mid 80's melodic rock album.

If you're an 80's rock fan, particularly of bands like Journey, Loverboy, Giuffria, and Rail, this is an absolute must-have album.

NOTE: White Sister was reissued by Zoom Club and EMI/Heavy Metal America in 2002. This is the first time the album was made available on CD, and while it does not contain any bonus material, it has been digitally remastered.

The Best From This Era!!!!!!! (And Others)
Christopher S. Hadfield | Lincoln, Nebraska United States | 03/01/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"These guys know how to deliver the catchiest hottest heavy pop ever written. Every song on this cd is PERFECT!! Unfortunatly this cd was about 3 or 4 years AHEAD of its time. I would go as far as to say that if these guys had released this album in 85 or 86 they would be as much a household name as any other heavy pop band you CAN name (I hate to name names becouse no one I would name is worthy of being a guitar tech for these guys). If you want to hear a very intelligent version of 80's pop metal run don't walk to your mail box to get this after you order it."
