The charity, War Child, helps children affected by war across the globe, despite what border they inhabit - a charity Bowie himself makes no secret about supporting. By the Summer of 2009, this collection began to take shape with UK legends Duran Duran and former Slits member Viv Albertine coming aboard, as well as contributions from Warpaint, A Place To Bury Strangers, Rainbow Arabia, Chairlift, Vivian Girls, Papercranes, Carla Bruni and Megapuss (Devandra Banhart).
