"Any "Christian" act that starts out the closing track of an album with "In the gas station bathroom by the condom machine I heard the word of the Lord" has my vote. A lot of people want to talk about the life-changing experience of a Waterdeep show or testimony, but the ongoing honesty of Don Chaffer's writing is what keeps me a fan. I despise the sentimentalized version of Christianity that doesn't deal with the alternating brutality and mundane boredom of real life. Chaffer doesn't back down from it, and his writing embraces honest searching.
If you don't like mellow acoustic guitar and easy singing, you don't want this."

By Far My Favorite Waterdeep Album

"I've been a huge Waterdeep fan since high school (8 years ago and own almost every Waterdeep album. By far, this is my favorite. One reviewer compared them to Dave Matthews and Jars of Clay, which is absolutely incorrect. The first half of this album is a mixture of funk, blues, and rock. The last half is more acoustic, ending with Don and his guitar. This album is a must have. You are not a true Waterdeep fan until you own this amazing piece of art!"
