CD Reviews

An amazing piece of work!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've never played a guitar in my life, so I would seem a rather unlikely type to be heaping such piles of praise on an album that boasts virtuoso guitar playing on every track.Warren Cuccurullo is one of my absolute favorite guitarists (it doesn't hurt that he's in Duran Duran... three cheers for the 80s British Invasion). He is often mentioned in the same breath as virtuosos like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, but his songwriting and soloing seem to serve a far more melodic, dramatic, and even thematic purpose than anything I've ever heard from standard-issue kings of the axe. His playing seems perfectly fluid, sloppy, planned, and improvised all at once! His solo work on the final track, "Thanks to Frank" is a perfect companion piece to Zappa's "Watermelon in Easter Hay." If you want to kick out the jams in a big way, while marveling at the mind-blowing ability of an incredible talent... this is one place to begin...Check out Mike Keneally while you're at it... Frank sure new how to pick 'em!"
Stunning!

"Warren Cuccurullo rocks on this CD. It is stunning. The music is VERY tight and makes a great companion to the excellent 'Machine Language' CD."
Don't let the lack of vocals fool you!

"I am not a fan of guitar normally, I find excessive solos bore me, excessive showing off grates on me. I like to have something vocal, some lyrics to hook onto. This masterpiece is in a category of its own! No vocals, but the guitar sings to you in a way only the sweetest front man could master. Buy it. Buy it NOW."
