Reputed to be a protégé of Hendrix, Rossi beat out Bryan Adams for Most Promising Male Vocalist in the 1981 Junos, Canada's version of the Grammies. But make no mistake about it, Rossi bears no resemblance to that generic songster; rather he is both a master of jazz and power-cord rock, with a bluesy, Paul Rodgers'like voice; a fusion of Santa and Bad Company."
