Combining the best of both worlds; Senegal?s most popular rap group and Norway's most prominent hip hop producer has crafted a solid snapshot of the day to day struggles facing Senegalese youth in the busy capital of Dakar. Wagëblë?s new album ?Sénégal? addresses the harsh reality of the Senegalese society, while also paying homage to the positive sides of their own country and culture. As their popularity in Senegal is reaching new heights, they now strive to reach out to the rest of the world. The new album ?Sénégal? was released in their motherland July 2005, and internationally in November. Wagëblë will feature and host a documentary on the Senegalese hip hop scene filmed by NRK; Norway's major broadcasting institution, to be aired in all Scandinavian countries in November. They have also been booked at the Oslo World Music festival and Selam African Festival in Stockholm in November, as the only unsigned group on the program.
