"This was the most suprising release of the year.
Incredible songwriting- a hybrid of melodic pop
and avant experimentalism- but never at the expense
of hookiness. The songs are dark- lyrically brilliant-
moving and poetic- but they pack a wallop when
they need to. VPN have cracked the code on guitar
rock- they use guitars in an adventurous way-but
still press the pleasure button often. Think Jawbox
meets Bends-era Radiohead meets Charles Mingus
meets Wire-uggh- just buy the album."
