A Simple Thank You is a 'Little Big Band' concept...lots of power and excitement, interesting arrangements, and plenty of solo space. Virginia's steady rhythm section of Kenny Wessel - guitar, Harvie S - bass, and Victor Jones - drums, totally take care of business. The Septet's horn section really sounds like a section, with Scott Harrell on trumpet and flugelhorn, Lisa Parrott on alto and baritone saxophones, Noah Bless on trombone, and Virginia on tenor and soprano. Special guests Ingrid Jensen on trumpet and flugelhorn and percussionist Mayra Casales bring the music to an even higher level. The material for A Simple Thank You is a combination of music from Virginia's earlier CDs, rearranged for septet, along with some completely new music.
