Synopsis

Product Description
It was back in 2002 when assorted member's of England's Raging Speedhorn and crew faced the very sobering notion that their daily offering of free booze would dry up whilst not on tour. So for vocalist Roddy Stone, bassist Kevin Waldie, and guitarist Frank Regan, the lure of a free pint was enough to encourage them to form a band.
In quick time, Viking Skull was recording and enjoying non-stop touring (European runs with HIM, Dio, CKY and later their first trip to the US alongside Clutch) when one memorable evening things came to an abrupt halt. What can only be recalled as a drop-down, all out battle (fueled by lots and lots of absinthe unfortunately supplied by CKY friend/drummer Jess Margera) the 'Skull's outer edges fried and the band broke up. Later finding out what had happened, Margera, the band's sole American, offered up his services and within short time wounds healed and Viking Skull was back and kicking ass.
Heavy Metal Thunder combines Viking Skull's (previously unavailable in the US) debut EP and full length albums. Fully remastered and featuring new artwork, the record finally brings the band's early tunes to the ears of North American fans. It is released nearly 2 years t othe date from their last studio album, the mega-heavy Doom, Gloom, Heartache & Whiskey (Powerage). Heavy Metal Thunder will precede the release of the band's new, still in progress ep.
Viking Skull are set to announce new tour dates for the UK late autumn/early winter and are in discussion for their return to US shores.
