CD ReviewsVery Secretary, BEST POSSIBLE SOUVENIR James Gibbs | Austin, TX USA | 04/30/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Sometimes sad and sentimental, other times open and harmonious. Very Secretary run through fields of green, green grass with open arms and a sense of wonder, abandonment and appreciation. Varying between alternative and emo-core, this album is perfect for afternoon study breaks, lounging or just as a straight listen. In highschool i was a big fan of Braid and in paticular, Roy Ewing. He is an incredible drummer, overwhelmingly good at times with his jazzy rhythms and unpredictable timing. A few years ago he left Braid and joined Very Secretary, both bands are similar but only by thier fan bases and circles(both are dated and dead, you had to have been there, it was beautiful). Words to describe Very Secretary: Warm, Inviting, Sincere, Passionate and Playful. If Very Secretary were a girl i wouldn't be nervous asking her out on a date... P.S. if this album is your cup of tea also try: Strictly Ballroom's, 'Hide Here Forever' and Sunny Day Real Estate's, 'Pink (2nd)Album.'" Very Secretary, Pretty good James Gibbs | 01/27/2000 (3 out of 5 stars) "This particular band has a very unique, harmonious sound that should appeal to almost any fan of good music. Ha. The songs are always interesting, and the music flows with a smoothness not found in many other bands. While this cd is pretty good, Very Secretary's contribution to the "Postmarked Stamps" complilations from Tree records is excellent. I really recommend that album("Postmarked Stamps")."
