Synopsis

Album Description
Founded in the Fall of 2003 in Lawrence, KS, Vena Amori quickly became a well-oiled rock machine creating a unique blend of screaming, singing and melodies alongside a barrage of swirling riffs and thunderous drumming. Hell-bent on creating a trademark sound and leaving a trail of awed spectators nationwide, the band shared the stage with the likes of Murder by Death, Planes Mistaken for Stars and Fear before the March of Flames within the first few months of existence. In June 2005 Vena Amori headed to the East Coast to record their pummeling debut, The Seduction of an American Housewife, with producer Jesse Cannon (A Static Lullaby, Northstar, Shai Hulud). The result is simply stunning. Heavy, melodic, thrash and roll, perfectly fitting in with their scene counterparts while paying tribute to the old school of metal and punk that clearly influence them.

CD Reviews

Bought this on a whim
M. Thompson | Virginia | 06/29/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I bought this because I liked the cover art and was interested in the concept of the CD, namely the Dalton murder in Kansas 1968, I thought the theme sounded a little similar to "In Cold Blood" where the artist trys to get into the head/heads of the murderer/s. On this front the album delivers. It is dark as well as educational. The music on the other hand didn't really do it for me. Im not sure if I just didn't like the singing/screaming, or if the riffs were just not catchy enough or heavy enough for my tastes. I'd like to hear what other reviewers have to say, but I thought the album was sort of lame."
