Member CD ReviewsEric K. (SoulfulStuff) Reviewed on 11/29/2016... Original Sun Records tracks from the 1950s! A few hits, a bunch of great non-hits, and a handful of obscure things you should probably hear if you're a rockabilly fan who doesn't already have them. There's even one tune from the bluesy side of Sun, Roscoe Gordon's "Decorate the Counter," which is unhinged enough to fit in with the rockin' legends here. Personal faves include Charlie Rich's "No Headstone on My Grave," a ballad that also manages to fit in, and "Drinkin' Wine" by Gene Simmons (the Gene Simmons who finally hit in 1964 with "Haunted House," that is). This is a great rockabilly set hiding on a budget label known for lesser stuff. Don't let that deter you. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
