Synopsis

Album Description
Baltimore's legendary House Music congregation, the Basement Boys (represented on this project by Teddy Douglas and DJ Spen of The Muthafunkaz) reunite on this special King Street commemorative 2-cd mixed set and 18th edition of the immensely celebrated Mix the Vibe series. The original Basement Boys Production team was founded in 1986 and to date, the Boys, including Spen, have remixed songs for such esteemed major Pop, Rock and R&B artists as Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Paula Abdul, and Diana Ross, Shaun Escoffery, Bob Sinclair, EBTG, and more. For this double cd set, Teddy Douglas & DJ Spen have selected and mixed together the choicest King Street & Nite Grooves cuts produced by Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Quentin Harris, and Ananda Project, and have re-produced and re-edited some of the most amazing tracks in the catalog, while including some of their own artists. Special edits and remixes include "Misery" (DJ Spen's MuthaFunkin Remix) by Kimara Lovelace, "The Rising Sun" (MuthaFunkaz Soul Rising) by Studio Apartment feat. Blaze, Teddy Douglas Re-edits of Ananda Projects "Where The Music Takes You," and "Yuki" by Hideo Kobayashi, adding further twists and turns on this must-have for fans of pure House Music. So press the Muthafunkin Play Button and get ready to rise on up for over 2 seamless hours of nonstop spiritual Basement-al boogie!
