CD Reviews

This CD is no joke

"Let me start this by telling you that I have well in excess of 5000 electronica CDs. I was listening to techno back when the rest of the world thought Grandmaster Flash was God. This is not the opinion of some glow-stick wielding yuppie teenie X-head. I listen to this music because it stimulates my brain in ways that no other music can, and in a dark, quiet room with a great set of headphones, you can have religious experiences without the need for chemicals. This CD is no joke. This is easily the best GOA trance album I own. Other posters are correct in calling this album a journey. As you progress through these two CD's, you will either find that you can't stop the chills from going up and down your back, or the goosebumps from forming all over your body. Let it go and enjoy the music -- you will absolutely lose your mind if you crank this stuff up loud enough. By far the best GOA trance mix going, hands down, period, the end. Buy this CD and have it shipped to you using the fastest available service -- the faster you get this music into your brain the better you will feel!"
Nothing Special
Kevin Fiske | Los Angeles, CA | 08/04/2002
(2 out of 5 stars)

"Sure, this is definitely Goa from some of the bigger names in the field such as X-Dream and Colorbox, and a lot of it, but the fact is, its still a mediocre album.
The pieces played on this two-disc album present a rather similar selection of works, with the heavy influence of flangers on practically every track. Sometimes the songs were just downright obnoxious, but the album didn't appear to show many surprises or changes of importance.
The mixing was done relatively well on this album by a mysterious DJ, and I'd say its good if you need deep thumping music for a background to studying, reading, etc., but is not for paying a lot of attention to."
A bargain at twice the price!

"This is the real deal! It is definitely NOT, I repeat, NOT a collection of 3rd rate left-overs that couldn't make it on a real compiliation. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but WOW. It's a no brainer. Buy it! Other reviews mentioned the songs on here show up on a lot of other CDs, so if you already own a zillion GOA CDs it might not be for you. If you like electronica, and want to try something different, this is the CD to get.

EDIT: Well, I said it was a deal at half the price, so now they've doubled the price. Don't hate me. It's still worth the money."
