CD Reviews

Killer Garage Melt-down!
Jason Gilmour | Brantford, Ontario, Canada | 03/13/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Yeeaah cats! Holy gee-whiz this comp. rocks! This LP kicks off with the mighty roar of Paul Bearer and the Hearsemen's " I've Been Thinking " and don't stop rockin' till the end. This is the real deal baby! You can replace all the lame Nuggets comps with this scorchin' platter. Real, gritty and honest teen screech from the pre-hippie mid- sixties. The world would be a better place if kids in the sixties had listened to this stuff instead of junk like The Doors and The Beatles!"
A Garage Punk Litmus Test
Todd Lucas | Southern Illinois, USA | 02/05/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Okay see, here's what you do. Buy this disc and give it a listen. If you don't like it, you'll never have to worry about buying a garage disc again. That's becuase this is the greatest garage punk compilation of all time. If you don't like it, garage rock ain't your bag, period! Hell, the first two songs alone are well worth the purchase price. This folks is the real classic rock. Hypothetically speaking, what would our world be like if tunes like "From Zero Down" were getting spins on the local classic rock station instead of the one millionth airing of "Black Magic Woman"? Well, this world would be a much more fun place to be, that's what! I say, the revolution starts here!"
Just buy the CD

"I'll have to agree with my fellow reviewers. This is classic. Just about everything on here is better than anything you'll find on Nuggets. This is simply the best 60s garage punk I've ever heard anywhere."
