Synopsis

Product Description
?6 Blocks 96 Buildings? picks up where Landspeed?s ?41st Side? album (LSR 9204) left off. Now that the ?41st Side? moniker is played out, Queensbridge finest are delivering an all-new full length under the production guidance of Q-Butta (previous features alongside DJ Camillo, Cipah Sounds, the Hot 97 mixtapes, and a production credit on Lake and Cormega?s ?My Brother?s Keeper? album on Fast Life). With an intro by Marley Marl (fittingly), this latest edition in the saga of Queensbridge?s continuing domination of gritty, streetwise NYC Hip Hop takes the torch that Marley & Shan lit back in 1985 & keeps it burning. All the big QB names represent including Mobb Deep, Nas, Tragedy Khadafi, Cormega, Big Noyd, Screwball and Infamous Mobb. Beats by The Alchemist, Salaam Remi, Havoc, Ric Rude, Q-Butta and more.

CD Reviews

Another very tight QB mixtape - 4.5 stars
G$ | B-More, MD | 11/02/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Whenever you get this many QB rappers together you know you're gettin at least 4.5 stars. Here Rick Rude & Q Butta gather up most of the QBC rappers (a few left off -- Littles, Kyron & Hostyle of Screwball, Jungle of the Bravehears, Capone only drops about 4 bars, and a few lesser known ones are left out as well) and bring you a nice 17 song compilation (a few I've heard on other albums). No production credits but I'm guessing Rick Rude & Q Butta did the majority (I know Havoc did at least 2 and ALChemist did at least 1) and it's pretty tight as well. Of the 17 songs, 2 are classics, 2 are almost classics, 3 are average, 1 I skip, and the other 9 are good or real good songs. A must have for fans of real street rap, QueensBridge rap.

#2 - 8.5 (Havoc & Big Noyd -- also on Noyd's "Stick Up Kid")

#3 - 8 (Noreaga, Prodigy, Nature, Capone)

#4 - 8.5 (Tragedy Khadafi, Nature & Poet (of Screwball)

#5 - 7.5 (Big Noyd -- also on his "Stick Up Kid" album)

#6 - 7.5 (NaShawn)

#7 - 9 (Cormega -- same song is on "Legal Hustle" -- different beat though)

#8 - 8.5 (Nature -- nice beat)

#9 - 10 (CLASSIC -- Lake f/ Mr. Cheeks -- also on Lake & Mega's "My Brothers Keeper" album -- great beat and story)

#10 - 9.5 (Bars & Hooks -- tight beat)

#11 - 8.5 (Prodigy)

#12 - 10 (CLASSIC -- Infamous Mobb {Ty Knitty, GOD III, Twin Gambino}, Prodigy & V-12 -- great beat)

#13 - 9.5 (CLASSIC -- Imam Thug f/ Lord Tariq & Twin Gambino (Of Infamous Mobb) -- great beat)

#15 - 7.5 (killah Shah -- a decent dirty song)

#16 - 5 (NaShawn f/ Wiz (of the Bravehearts) -- worst song on here)

#17 - 8 (Nas)

#18 - 8.5 (Poet & KL of Screwball)

#19 - 9 (Tragedy Khadafi & Rick Rude)
