"Reggae artists in general are not noted for their classic albums, but there are of course exceptions and this is one of them. This record was one of my first reggae purchases when it came out back in 1980, and time has proved it truly to be a classic. Its availability on CD has been long overdue. The recording dates from Dennis Brown's more rootsier period, and features many of Jamaica's top musicians: Sly Dunbar, and Roots Radics Flabba Holt and Bingy Bunny to name but a few. Dennis's fabulous voice, as usual, is the crowning glory on all of these tracks - and there's not a dudd one among them. As far as I know the only single ever released from this album was Dennis's majestic version of the Wailers' "Slavedriver", which opens the proceedings. The rest is pure magic. If you like reggae then you like Dennis Brown, and if you like Dennis Brown then "Joseph's Coat..." is a must."
