Even if you disagree with past winners, every song on the "Ultimate" CD is worthy of the honor. Opening with Aretha Franklin's landmark anthem "Respect" and concluding with the Commodores' poignant "Nightshift," this 62-minute disc offers a wide array of soul stylings. Among the treasures: Sam & Dave's "Soul Man," Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," Billy Paul's "Me and Mrs. Jones," the Emotions' "Best of My Love" and Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing." Great music and great memories."
