"As a fan, I bought it out of curiousity. When I'm an old lady, I'll scrounge around for change to pay for my expensive prescriptions and fume over that $15 I'll never get back. This is a truly 80s production, but in the worst way. The synths are cheesy and dated, the vocals are uninspired. Gone are the guitars and big drum beats that gave Duran Duran's songs so much more power than the lesser pop hits of the day. Instead, "Durantastic" sounds like it was put together on someone's computer in a basement. In 1983. Not a single track takes a song into fresh territory. I give the makers credit for selecting a style and sticking to it, but they gave us lousy retreads of once-great pop songs. Even "Save a Prayer" is reworked into an unforgiveable house song.If you're looking for good dance versions of Duran Duran songs, pick up "Strange Behaviour" for a slew of great old remixes. If you're looking for a fun tribute album, I highly recommend "The Duran Duran Tribute Album" on Mojo Records. But unless you're a collector of all things Duran, leave this one alone."
