CD Reviews

Painful
Dr W. Richards | Canada | 03/13/2005

"Even listening to ten-second samples of these songs was enough to make me wince and cringe. Whoever these people are, they cannot sing. Whoever came up with the idea for this CD - and I completely agree with the reviewer who asked why the heck anyone would create a 'tribute' for Josh Groban, who is only at the beginning of his career - needs to have their head examined. The record company must have been insane to release it.

Don't waste your money. Buy Closer and Josh Groban instead. This CD is nothing short of painful to listen to."
Yuck

"It isn't the songs--it's the VOICE. There's only one Josh Groban. Why on earth would anyone buy this CD of shoddy remakes when you can have the real thing? This review is based just on the samples (which made my stomach turn because they were so bad.)"
Who is the person on the cover? Aint nothing but a Shame!

"I was particularly struck by the fact that "various artists" recorded the "tribute!" Apparently both words "various" and "artists" have generic definitions that include such aspects as hilarity, ridicule and enterprising - in the case of those poor souls who actually bought the recording, but had not heard the clips first. I'm also interested in the fact that "Remember When It Rained" is included on the "tribute," since Josh penned that one himself. Could he have sold his rights to that one? Surely not! Also, perhaps the title should have been FARTHEST FROM (with reference to CLOSER)!"
