Good tunes, but not original recordings.

"The song titles are great, but these are not original recordings. They are remakes. However, they are close to the original sound. If original recordings are important to you, I wouldn't recommend this one."
Better listen for yourself re original recordings...but they

"I don't know about previous reviewer's conclusion, the samples of Midnight Confessions and Bend Me Shape Me definitely sounded original to me, though I thought the latter song might have been subtly different. I didn't review all the tracks, perhaps best to check the samples for the ones most important to you for their originalness.
LATER: Now having listened to all the samples I know well---if they are knock-offs, they are damn good ones.
STILL LATER: Now having listened side by side to the samples of a few tracks here alongside the samples from the authorized versions on Am Breed and Grass Roots Greatest Hits Albums----Indeed they are knockoffs, although very good ones. The best knockoffs I have ever heard. But still rip-offs. Only buy this for the cool authentic looking mid-'60s babe on the CD cover, not for the tracks, for sure.
Those of us who've been around for a while remember that '60s compilations were notoriously knock-off-prone. It is hard to collect authentic '60s music without ponying up for the authentic group CDs. Unfortunately. Much easier with 70s and 80s music.
Amazon won't let me change my star rating, I now give this a two star rating, phonies, but really good phonies."
