"My daughter and I had season tickets to the Augusta Synphony. She was ten. Music appreciation, etc. Boy were we surprised. She normally seemed bored at these concerts, but when Joe Kennedy, Jr. started playing we both knew this was different. I've NEVER heard anything like it. I'd never heard of jazz violin before. You just have to hear this. He's a music professor from Virginia - he ought to be famous. If you like violins, and if you like jazz, then you'll love this. Buy it.."

"The last reviewer indicated that Joe Kennedy "ought to be famous." Obviously she did not realize that Joe Kennedy "was" famous and he played all over the world. I am sad to report that he passed away on April 17, 2004 at the age of 80. As a student of Joe Kennedy's, jazz violin will never be heard the same way again. May his soul rest in peace."

"I aquired the LP about 30 years ago and have always loved it. I always wanted more from this performer/arranger-composer so was delighted to find this CD. It is a re-make, and wow--the sounds I'm hearing now on CD that were not audible on the LP! Although, all the tunes are old ones, the orchestra and soloist sound so fresh and current. The entire CD makes for a truly wonderful listening experience. For those interested in arranging and improvisation, it is also intriguing. Joe Kennedy expertly displays his talents in both areas on this recording."
