"I really love the Sounds of the Earth series, as I find them the best environmental recordings I've heard. The EXOTIC PARADISE one is very pleasant too, if you like one that is subdued and steady. It's mostly birds you'll hear on this one, and they're all far enough from the microphones that they're never loud, nor do any of them throw annoying birdie tantrums. There's also a mild background of running water, probably a nearby stream, and a few mellow insect chirps thrown in as well. As is customary with the Sounds of the Earth series, all this is very well recorded, clear and balanced with nothing phony-sounding in it, and as far as I have detected, no repeating of sounds that is a common practice on some labels of nature recordings. EXOTIC PARADISE is quite similar to another very good one in this series, Sounds of Earth: Rainforest, though the latter includes a lengthy section of thunder and rainfall. So, if you're looking for a pleasant though little-changing environmental CD, EXOTIC PARADISE is a great one for that, or maybe you could try RAINFOREST if you prefer a similar setting that has more variety to it. I listen to both of them often to relax."
