The track listing is in error; this is a THREE-cd set, not just 2. The tracks listed for disc 2 are actually all on disc 3. Here is the correct (missing) information for disc 2:

DION/BELMONTS I Wonder Why
MYSTICS Hushabye
RANDY & RAINBOWS Denise
IMPALAS Sorry (I Ran All the Way Home)
FOUR LOVERS You're the Apple of My Eye
JAY & AMERICANS Come a Little Bit Closer
MELLO-KINGS Tonite, Tonite
QUOTATIONS Imagination
DION/BELMONTS A Teenager in Love
FOUR EVERS Be My Girl (Please Be Mine)

FOUR LOVERS Girl in My Dreams
NORMAN FOX/ROB ROYS Pizza Pie

All songs are the original versions; sound quality great as usual for Time-Life. Informative 40-page booklet.

CD Reviews

Thoughtful, nostalgic, well done anthology
Arthur Shuey | Wilmington, NC USA | 08/20/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Let's hit the title highlights, because that's the main thing -- "Sherry," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "Barbara-Ann," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Come a Little Closer," "A Teenager in Love," "16 Candles" and "There's a Moon Out Tonight."

To see this three-CD set in a store or read about it here and assume it's some sleazy cheesy bad recording out of one of those annoying infomercials would be to do oneself a disservice. The sound is great, the liner notes are extensive and reverential and the anthology's purpose is clearly to give listeners a good idea of the scene rather than a greatest hits collection.

Glad to own it."
