CD Reviews

Excellent Compilation Album
N. Allen | Tucker, GA United States | 07/02/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is truly about the best neo-soul compilation album to date. What I like even more is that most of the artists on this album are independent artists that are very credible. There is a plethera of styles present on this album. The title of the album fits perfectly. People, please don't sleep on this one!"
A truly great little soul sampler!

"The good folks at Groove Nation, one of the most well regarded proponents of the scene since the mid 90's did a wonderful job here hand-picking 16 tracks by some of the greatest acts in the soul underground. It's pretty much a who's who of artists who have carried the torch of the deepest, most genuine soul and soul jazz of the past few decades into the 21st century! A truly great little soul sampler! "If" by Heston, "Past Paradise" by Eric Roberson, "The Beginning Of Never" by Marlon Saunders, "Something Real" by Seek, "Spirit" by Monet, "Heaven Help Us All" by Urban Ave. 31, "Just Because" by Conya Doss, "Keep It Real" by Queen Aaminah, "Mary Ann" by Andreus, "Maysa" by Ascension, "Time" by Big Brooklyn Red, "Situation" by Jonz and more! Excellent!

"This CD is great! One of the best CDs that I have bought this year. Highly recommended to serious neo soul fans! Too bad so many of the artists on the CD don't get a lot of airplay. Fortunately in Atlanta, WCLK 91.9 keeps the vibe going...."
