Christmas Secrets

"My dad and I were riding in the car one christmas season, driving to Effingham. He popped a cd in the player and smiled a mischevious smile. Over the sound system came a joyous sound, beautiful blues and jazz and big bands, crooners and wailers and whining lover of Elvis. We laughed and sang along and bobbed our heads along to the rich sounds of a christmas long forgotten. This is a fantastic album. I recommend it to anyone in the mood for something different, something special."
Excellent mixed bag of Christmas classics

"This collection ranges from bawdy blues (Jimmy Butler's "Trim Your Tree") to reverent recitations (Big Maybelle's "Silent Night") to teen exploitation (Debby Dabney's "I Want To Spend Christmas With Elvis"). By the way, Johnny Guanieri's "Santa's Secret" was revived by the Squirrel Nut Zipper's as "Santa Claus Is Smokin' Reefer" - sure beats milk and cookies! Anyway, this edition is out-of-print, but the album was reissued in 2003 with one extra cut - Big Maybelle's "White Christmas," the a-side of the single that also yielded "Silent Night.""
