CD ReviewsPrimal Rock & Roll At Its Best 01/17/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "This Detroit rock & roll band rivaled Bob Seger in the Detroit area from 1977 to 1981. From its foot stopin' songs of "Desire" and "Takin it Back" to the popish sound of "Sad Songs" and "Time After Time" this album covers everything from the primal rock & roll sound. The Rockets are one of the most underrated bands of all time. The only reason I give "No Ballads" 4 stars is because it's not there best work, but still damn good. The guitar playing of Jim McCarty, the soulfull voice of Dave Gilbert, and the song wrtting (Back then groups wrote there own music)of McCarty and John "BEE" Badanjek were only surpassed by the Silver Bullet and E Street Bands. A must for primal rock fans, that is why I have 4 of their LPs including this one, and looking to find CDs!"
