"Rock On's 1975 collection is a strong set. The album gets off on the wrong foot with the incredible bad and overplayed "That's The Way (I Like It)" by KC & The Sunshine Band. Hot Chocolate's fun "You Sexy Thing" enjoyed a revival due to inclusion in The Full Monty and the complete studio creation The Silver Connection's "Fly, Robin, Fly" is not much. The pace is picked up by the white Scottish soul group, The Average White Band's great number one hit "Pick Up The Pieces" which has been sampled in many hip hop songs. Ace is lead by Paul Carrack, who would later gone on to sing with Squeeze, Mike & The Mechanics and a solo career, and he sings lead on the great "How Long". The late Minnie Ripperton hit number one with the sweet and tender "Lovin' You". Eric Carmen overemotes on the over the top "All By Myself" and Grand Funk's "Bad Time" is a catchy song that ranks as one of their best. A young Natalie Cole had one of her first hits with the infectious "This Will Be" and Tavares had a hit with the swirling "It Only Takes A Minute"."

"The reason I bought this CD was to be able to hear "Sad Sweet Dreamer" by Sweet Sensations--one of my favorite songs from the 70's--again. I received the CD just as I was going out of town and it was blast, kicking off my road trip at 6:15 AM, singing along with K.C. and The Sunshine Band to "That's The Way I Like It." The only criticism of this CD at all is that I had to adjust the volume up and down for some of the songs. But this is a great CD to have."
