Liverpudlians the Dead 60's have perfected a patchwork of postpunk, dub and ska since they formed at school during the 1990s under the name Resthome. With touchstones like The Clash, Lee `Scratch' Perry and the Specials, reggae music has certainly played an enormous part in shaping their sound. In 2004, they signed with Deltasonic, home to the Coral and the Zutons. The insistent, boppy `Riot Radio' single appeared in September of that year with the dubinflected `Last Resort' following in February 2005 and a self-titled full-length album dropping later that summer. The release of their second album with this set and the band have compiled a cracking retrospective of the tracks from the Trojan vaults which influenced them so heavily.
