CD Reviews

Driven heart
R. R Reyes | American Super Hero in japan | 05/25/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Great pulsing beats. Excelent to drive to. Good celection of trance tracks. Not too much filler as in many other compelations out now days. My only contention would be with the transitions between songs. The mix down could have been a little smoother. Over all very good...get it."
Outstanding trance on this two disc set. Me so happy.

"Thanks to an FYE for playing this compilation for display, I purchased this two disc album, the second volume to "Pure Trance Party." It's two continuous mixes containing today's trance and trance classics together. Both are just uplifting. There are twelve tracks on each disc.

Featured on disc one are trance anthems like Paffendorf's "BeCool." It's not the original mix, nor does it have the exact from the original. It's mostly the same synthesizers from the original, but the notes are different. The vocals, "Honey, you're so cool," "Yeah, God made me cool," "Everybody be cool. You be cool," etc.., are still in this track. There's also "Take Me To The Clouds Above" by LMC. This song contains a sample of U2's "With Or Without You." Another song on disc one is Armin Van Buuren's "Burned With Desire" featuring the vocals of Justine Suissa. The Dutch make great trance. Van Buuren's talented. The German's make good trance too. Paul Van Dyk's "Time Of Our Lives" feat. Vega 4. I like the song for its bass, and the vocals are good too. Funny how it almost sounds like a country song with those vocals. Also on disc one, PPK's "Resurrection." I have memories from 2002 with this single. I pretended to explore the undersea world while playing this song. There's also ATB's "Let U Go," "Turn The Tide" by Sylver, "Love Me Right" by Angel City, Sonique's "Feels So Good," and more.

On disc two, there's Schiller's "Das Glockenspiel." Whenever I hear this song, I picture a Christmas scene. That's what I get for listening to those kinds of bells. There's also Darude's "Music." I just can't get enough of robotic vocals. That's what's in the song. System F (Ferry Corsten) is on here with his hit, "Out Of The Blue." System F got an 'A' for his 1999 trancer. It's mighty and happy sounding. His other single, "Ligaya," is also on here (this time, under Ferry's 'Gouryella' moniker). The word 'ligaya,' I believe, is the Philipinish word meaning 'happiness.' Did you know? There's also Tiesto's "Traffic," ATB's "I Don't Wanna Stop," Kay Cee's "Escape," Oceanlab's "Sky Falls Down," "Madagascar" by Art Of Trance, and more.

It's trance like this that reminds me that this sub-genre of techno has a long healthy life ahead, and that it's going to find its way through more success in the electronica genre. I'll be waiting for volume three of the "Pure Trance Party" series if it's ever in existance and available."
