CD Reviews

Cheesetastic
E. Anderson | 04/05/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Back in the '90s when I was in college, I loved euro pop. I just loved dancing to that stuff at my favorite nightclubs on the weekends. When I saw PULSE: PLATINUM EDITION at my library, I couldn't help but check it out despite the huge cheese factor in the music. Most of the songs on the cd brings back fond memories of my college days like Le Click's "Call Me" and Nicki French's cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart". There are still a few songs that are on this compilation that I didn't like back then and still don't now like "Show Me Love" by Robin S. (not the Swedish Robyn) and "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C+C Music Factory. The songs may not be Shakespeare as far as lyrics are concerned but the point of these songs are to make a person dance. Much to my surprise they still do despite my roots in goth and industrial music. It is nice to take the edge off with something cheesy. PULSE: PLATINUM EDITION is a helluva lot of fun to listen to especially when one is getting ready to party this weekend."
