Amazon.comThere's punk, there's garage rock, and--floating somewhere in between the two aesthetics--there's dumb punk. The soundtrack to Psycho Sisters, the underground film about two serial-killing sisters, has a lot of dumb punk in it. The title track by Bob Nicholson is horrific enough in its own right, a semipsychedelic lo-fi theme song that ranks with the worst ever made. And while the nearly nine-minute-long "Shock Machine" by King Ghidorah! certainly sounds menacing enough to accompany a schlock film, it's just plain bad. But, luckily enough, the dumb punk saves the day. Tracks by Kid with the Man Head ("Cheese Grate Your Face"), the Groovie Ghoulies ("Chubacabra"), the Queers ("I'm OK, You're Fucked"), and the legendary Davie Allan ("Chopper") don't forget the camp that makes B-movies what they are. --Jason Verlinde
