"Snatch this up if you can find it! I can't imagine what it would sound like to someone who didn't hear it in the `80s, but for me it was an important record. I've enjoyed the LP version for so long, and got so used to hearing the anthology as a single listening experience, that the altered song list on the CD just doesn't sound right to my ears. I was especially disappointed to see that one of my favorite tracks - Maria Marquez & Frank Harris' "Canto Del Pilon" - is not on the CD. Nor is Voice Farm's "Mamma Made Me Do It." But there are still some great songs here; including the mysterious and hypnotic `anonymous' track, "Billy Bee.""

Folk Music By Ralph Records. Great combination!

"Howard Finster, Renaldo & the Loaf, The Residents, even Mark Mothersbaugh and Bongwater. This collection of folk songs performed as only Ralph Records stable of artists could. My favorites are Splash 1, and If you want nice kids be nice to your kids. But there are 16 other greats."
