La Soga, is an independent film written and co produced by multifaceted Manny Perez. (Manny also stars as Luisito "La Soga".) Filmed in Baitoa and Santiago, Dominican Republic and Washington Heights, La Soga is a tale of corruption in government and the abuse wreaked on every day citizens. The sound track, which was handpicked by the director,features a wide spectrum of Dominican music. It includes folklore as performed by Enerolisa, Perico Ripiao Amarfis, Shino Aguakate and el Sujeto; hip hop performed by Santiago based group, Ingco Crew;there is Orchestral Merengue as performed by Minino and a generous smattering of bachata by Elvis Martinez, the Hustlehearts and- last but not least-Aventura.
