"I am not a big fan of compilations or even Haitian music but this one is killer and it has become a desert island CD for me. I have lost the cover art but I believe that the film director Jonathan Demme put together this incredible collection. Sixty-two minutes of diverse Haitian music."

"KONBIT is simply a MUST for your collection. Every track will bring the utmost delight to the waiting and eager pleasure centers of your brain. If you are able to move, you can't remain seated! You will be inspired to learn more and will even develop more compassion and concern for the long-suffering beautiful people and cultures of Haiti: You will even want to do something---anything---to help, since you are receiving such sheer joy and new energy from this awesome music! It's difficult to choose a fave---I love them all---but I am especially drawn to E'E'E'E'E'. I know it sounds like I'm gushing here but you too will be enthralled; do yourself a huge favor and get this compilation. You'll play it for your friends!"
One of best World Beat albums ever!

"I got to know this album when it was a vinyl rarity. I made a cassette tape, and listened to it for YEARS until the tape broke. Then I patched the tape. I had no idea it was available on CD, I thought it was one of those treasures that never got digitized and would vanish forever. So I digitized my patched cassette and listened to it despite the poor sound. I am so happy to see it on CD at last, and will buy one immediately. Seriously, if you haven't ever heard this disk and you like Caribbean / World Beat music, don't miss this one. THe title cut, a Reggae in Creole French, is awesome with the Neville Bros. on Sax. Charlamagne's Haiti Pa Forêt is soft and sad, a lament for the deforestation the island has suffered. It's one of my wife's favorite songs. Mario Mario, Libete and Raraman are also excellent cuts."
