Synopsis

Album Description
Hed Kandi's World Series returns with a sun-soaked and sexy addition to the global guide line-up - Brazil! A country of beauty, passion and beautiful music, Brazil provides a perfect backdrop for Hed Kandi's party agenda and this disc perfectly sums up the moments when house music's biggest label meets the South American jewel that is Brazil. DJ afficiandos Andrew Daniels and David Dunne lay down the mixes over 2 CDs, each selecting tracks to define their own Brazilian moments having both recently toured the southern continent of the Americas while Jason Brooks crafts his sexiest cover image yet with a sultry girl from an Ipanema in full naked glory (that's without the Hed Kandi Logo, not without clothes!) South America loves electronic music so this release sees a return to the slightly edgier sound of Hed Kandi with tracks and remixes from Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, David Penn, Steve Angello and Laidback Luke to name a few. As is the case with the World Series titles, this piece of Kandi goodness comes packed with a guide on the places to visit, eat, sleep and party throughout Brazil, as advised by Team Kandi from visits and tours over the years. An exciting addition to the Hed Kandi catalogue and with UK, Paris, San Francisco and Ibiza already on the World Series album roster, it raises the question.. just where will Hed Kandi be heading to next?

CD Reviews

For "World Series", ok. But this has nothing to do with Bra

"This will be a quick review about Hed Kandi's World Series Brazil release. Hed Kandi, the label, was one of my favorites in the early 00's with their Serve Chilled/Beach House/Winter Chill releases. Typically, the World Series releases feature a double disc set of throbbing dance tracks. Really nice mixes and great tunes.

Unfortunately I came to learn this later on, as when I saw that Hed Kandi was releasing a cd with BRAZIL being the most highlighted item, I had to check it out. I was disappointed, because this had nothing at all to do with Brazil. No Brazilian house or beats - nothing at all. Getting over this, there are still some sensational dance tracks on here, and the cd impressed me by capturing the ambiance of being in a pulsating club. But no beats, or really any Brazilian musicians as well. I'd imagine that if Hed Kandi wanted to host a party in Rio, this might be the approach and it wouldn't be too bad of one either.

So if you're looking for a pretty good 'new' Hed Kandi club cd, then you'll probably be satisfied with this. But if you're looking for what could've been a great Hed Kandi interpretation of the newer electronic cuts out of Brazil, you'll be extremely disappointed. It bears repeating, this has nothing at all to do with Brazil, other than it being mentioned a bit in the notes which was and is pretty frustrating. And from some of the other reviews I've seen around, that's been the common gripe."
