"For fans of new or old swing, lounge swing, and a touch of dixieland, and for those of us who can't get down to the Hiball Lounge in San Francisco, check out this compilation of 6 bands, all of whom do 2 numbers. Only 2 of them are sort of known (Lee Press-on and the Nails and Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers); Lavay Smith lives up to her reputation for smooth swing with a Dinah Washington lilt with her 2 songs, including a rendition of Blue Skies that I'm sure Irving Berlin would have loved. The original incarnation of the ACME Swing Co. is an off shoot of Lee Press-on's group, and they can boogie. If you dig down-home swing fresh from the 40's, with some fresh names, you'll dig this disc."
