"To Ben Thomas (who reviewed this earlier) and anyone else thinking about buying this. The artists on this compilation are not unknown at all. Some may be obscure, but there are others such as the great Toots & the Maytals, fantastic singer Edi Fitzroy, and worthy UK contenders Steel Pulse. If you do not recognize these names then you do need to brush up on your reggae knowledge. By all means, do check out Peter Tosh but don't let your musical education in regard to reggae end there. I think the bulk of this CD was recorded during the 80s which wasn't the era that most people are familiar with (that would be the original roots material of the late 60s and through the 70s) so don't come to this CD expecting soulful Marley type singing. It's a Beatles cover CD - it's pretty commerical stuff. If you're expecting something more you're fooling yourself."
