Gotham Garage rocks - from the Tie Reds' energetic "Come On, Let's Go" through the Konks' lo-fi genius "One Eye Open." The music is diverse, 'garage' being as much a state of mind as a real musical genre. There's the grrl-punk of The Downbeat Five and Thee Minks, the retro sound of Muck & the Mires (featuring members of the Nines), and the solid NYC-blank-generation rock of Baby Strange, The Drossells, and The Fever. There aren't too many slow songs.
