Synopsis

Album Description
The compilation features an eclectic mix of musical styles, Deep House, Downbeat, Drum & Bass, Nu-Jazz etc., but it always seems difficult to categorize this sort of music. More important is the blending of different cultures (India, Hungary, UK, USA etc.) & musical backgrounds to be found on this compilation. Many of the tracks featured on this album, were underground-club hits in the past few months, DJs like Rainer Truby, Jazzanova, Alex Attias, Gilles Peterson, Peter Kruder & LTJ Bukem have included them on their play lists & magazines such as Straight no Chaser gave 'strong buy' recommendations for these now limited availability & in some cases no longer available 12 inches. Digipak. Compost. 2003.

Compilation of good mood

"do you know what makes music good? i don't. but this album is more than good. it includes all the neccesary parts. easyness, erotic vibes, intense rhythms, soulful vocals, etc. my favourite track is Stephane A's "Listen Luv". vocals by Jon Lucien just make me shiver. DJ Shuriken's "Psycked Up Muzak" reminded me of some "progressive" hip-hop track's intro. but it made me smile though. this is not just some background music. this is a jazz-funky piece of masterwork that makes you think. furthermore, it makes you move. this is chillout, dance and "deep-mental-thing" all in the same barrell. shaken, not stirred..."
A soundtrack to your next starbucks visit....

"theres a bunch of keepers on this album. i go with dj shuriken, slavador group and amalgamation of soundz on this one. for the rest of the tunes are a bit normal. these are the kind of songs you will hear blaring at your local starbucks cafe. it's like background music, the only song that is an exception in the one from salvador group, which begs to not be in the background with its use of live instruments. i was unimpressed with most of the cd however, but it is perhaps a lovely accopaniment at home when you're washing those dishes to make you feel a bit lighter. like i mentioned it is background music and it ususally doesnt hold up to its own when listened to with thought. i do have a cool story to tell about this cd. i work at a photography studio and my boss tells me hey, bring in some music to play while we work, so i bring in vol. 5 of this very compilation and bam hes hooked. he burned a copy right there(i know that probably just pissed off the people at compost records lol!) and now this music is constantly running in the studio and always on. i;m sure that if you find yourself tired of contemporary christian music getting blared at your workplace, bring this in instead, its inoffensive, usually just uses like samples from obscure jazz records and it really can set an interesting party atmosphere. once again, it is just background music but give it a shot, it might acvtually suprise you. one thing is for sure, im not liistening to this in the car or like in my i pod, that would be freakin lame. just pop it in the home cd player and you're good to go. good lck"
