Synopsis

Album Description
Far Out`Brazil' is an introduction to the sounds of one of the world's foremost Brazilian record labels and featuring Brazil's most respected artists, all recorded live in Rio De Janeiro, plus remixes straight from Europe's hottest dance-floors. `Far Out Brazil' follows in the footsteps of the previous low price `Far Out 100' sampler in offering a compilation of new, classic and overlooked Far Out tracks that show why Far Out is one of the most well respected contemporary Brazilian labels in the world today. With its superlative track-list blending classic, exclusive and recent material and competitive price `Far Out Brazil' is perfect for both the newcomer to Brazilian music and fan of Far Out, as well as those looking for a compilation that's more rewarding than `Nu Brazil Beats Vol 3'. `Far Out Brazil' features 5 CD exclusives with 3 brand new tracks including `Have You Ever' from Zeep - the new band from Nina Miranda (Smoke City) and Chris Franck (Da Lata). Nina and Chris were the creative force behind Smoke City - the band whose `Underwater Love' track was a worldwide smash after its inclusion in a Levi's advert. Exclusives also come in the shape of `Luizao' - a track from the forthcoming Antonio Adolfo album `Destiny' which showcases his inimitable brand of 60s tinged psychedelic samba-funk and Eddy Meets Yannah's remix of Arthur Verocai's `Bis' - a big favourite with DJ Gilles Peterson. `Far Out Brazil' also features classic tracks from Far Out artists such as Joyce who appears with her husband Tutty Moreno on the beautiful `GB' (taken from their album `Magica') as well as the track `Folia no Samba' from 'The Ipanemas' critically acclaimed 2006 opus `Samba is Our Gift' plus the rootsy afro-Brazilian vibes of `Berimbal Capoeira' taken from Grupo Batuque's classic album of `99 `Africa Brazil'. The newer artists are of course represented Democustico appear with the euphoric `Rejoycing', Joyce's daughter Clara Moreno comes with the acoustic bliss of `Sabe Quem' and Far Out's brightest young starlet Sabrina Malheiros appears twice - `Terra De Ninguem' sees Sabrina team up with Nicola Conte and his all star band of Italian jazz masters who rework the track into a punchy dancefloor bossa, whilst Max Cole remixes `Cade Voce' into a slice of super-deep-solar-soul; both these cuts are lifted from Sabrina Malheiros' remix album `Vibrasons'. Grupo Batuque get the remix treatment twice - Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen turns `Afro Black' into an afro-Brazilian stomper whilst Ennio Styles' remix of `Batucada Maneira' is dancefloor dynamite and Jazzanova and Spiritual South offer two seminal remixes of Azymuth classics.
